Laser treatment | How does it work?

Laser treatment enables specific action on certain tissues without affecting others. Harmony XL platform uses different modules (UV, pulsed light, YaG laser) which are differentiated by their wavelength (in nm), their power (in mJ / cm2), and the zone they are able to treat (in cm2).

Useful information

Before the intervention

  • An initial medico-surgical consultation is first arranged to:
    • Ascertain any allergies you may have.
    • Decide on the type of laser.
    • Draw up a quote specifying the price and number of sessions.
  • The treatment area must be shaved 24-48 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight for 5 days before treatment.
  • Do not take photosensitizing medication.
  • Depending on the treatment, pre-treatment photographs are taken.

Day of the intervention

  • Before starting the treatment, we will again check for the absence of contraindications.
  • You will be given special glasses to protect your eyes.
  • The entire area is scanned methodically by the laser beam. The treatment is not painful. At most, you will feel slight tingling during the procedure and a slight warm sensation for half an hour afterwards.
  • The sessions vary in length since they depend on the surface area to be treated.
  • Intense moisturising cream will be applied at the end of each session.

After the intervention

  • You must continue moisturising your skin for a few more days.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight for 10 days after each session.
  • You will be given additional advice, more specific to your particular skin and treatment.
  • You must wait a few weeks or months between each session, depending on how your treatment progresses.
