- How long before you can resume normal activity?
7-15 days before returning to work and about 2 months for sport. - What interventions can be combined with an arm lift?
It is often combined with liposuction since this reduces arm circumference, giving a more harmonious result. - Where are the scars located after an arm lift?
Just under the armpit when there is very little excess fat; along the inner arm in more significant cases.
Useful information
Before the intervention
- Two consultations need to be arranged: one with the plastic surgeon and the other with the anaesthetist.
- You will be given a quote and a mutual informed consent form, which must both be signed before the intervention.
- Stop smoking for 1 month before and after the intervention.
- Do not take aspirin (except for cardiovascular indications to be discussed with your cardiologist and/or anaesthetist) for 10 days before the intervention.
- Do not take anti-inflammatory drugs for 10 days before the intervention.
- Shaving is not obligatory.
- Pre-operative photographs are taken.
- 15-day medico-legal reflection period (which cannot be shortened) between the 1st consultation and the intervention.
Day of the intervention
- General anaesthetic.
- Duration of the intervention: 2 hours on average.
- 1 night on average in hospital.
After the intervention
- Take an anticoagulant for 15 days after the intervention.
- Gently dry the dressings with a hair dryer after every shower.
- Wear a compression garment day and night for 45 days.
- If there is a drainage system, it is removed 1-3 days after the intervention.
- The stitches are not removed since they are absorbable.
- Return to work: after 7-15 days, depending on your work environment.
- Resume sport: gradually, after 1.5 months.
- Final result obtained: after 3-6 months.
- Oedema for 1-2 weeks.
- Resume sport: after 1 month.
- Final result obtained: immediately, with the definitive result after 3 months.
- Consultations after 15 days, 3 months and 12 months for a clinical check-up and to take post-operative photographs.
